Lifecolor Varnishes are high-quality acrylic finishes designed to protect, unify and enhance your painted models with a smooth, professional result. Available in Matt Varnish, Satin and Gloss, each varnish offers excellent control over final surface finish while preserving underlying detail and colour vibrancy.
Formulated for airbrush application, they deliver a fine, even coat with minimal effort and dry quickly to a durable, resilient finish. Ideal for sealing paint layers, adjusting sheen levels, and preparing surfaces for weathering, decals, or additional effects.
Matt Varnish – Produces a flat, non-reflective finish, perfect for realistic weathering and scale modelling.
Satin Varnish – Delivers a subtle sheen that balances realism with enhanced surface depth.
Gloss Varnish – Creates a smooth, high-shine protective finish while maintaining clarity and colour richness.
Suitable for a wide range of modelling applications, Lifecolor Varnishes are an essential final step for achieving durability, consistency, and a professional-grade finish on every project.
Using LifeColour
- Clean surfaces to be painted
- For airbrushing, dilute the colour to a milky consistency using water or LifeColor Thinner.
- Airbrush at very low pressures. (Iwata airbrushes give the best performance and atomisation at low pressures.)
- Apply colour in thin coats with a brush or airbrush
- Allow to dry completely between coats
- Clean your airbrush with airbrush cleaner and flush through with water
