PTFE needle packings are solvent-proof and will last much longer than rubber o-rings, avoiding the swelling and cracking that rubber suffers when subjected to solvents.

A PTFE needle packing does not mean you’ll never need to replace the packing – it just means it will take a lot more wear than a rubber part.
