Advice On Maintaining A Spray Booth

Spray booths can be described as a pressure controlled environment used to remove harmful chemicals from the air and improve working conditions by making it safe to breathe. They are often found in places like vehicle body shops and design studios where airbrush spraying and aerosol adhesive applications are common practice. There is a wide range of booths to choose from, all with their own unique specifications and recommended uses. However, they all generally serve a similar purpose which is to contain, filtrate and extract any harmful aerosol adhesives, airbrush overspray, spray tan solution and solder fumes from the air. They can also be used to contain things like resins, varnish odour, paint overspray and conformal coatings. The spray booth product range extends to filtration and extraction units, portable work benches as well as replacement filters. Tanning mist extractor units are another type of booth which is used specifically to capture the particles and overspray of the tanning mist solution. Here are some tips on how to maintain your booth and keep it in good condition; It is always a good idea to make sure that you and any employees you may have are fully aware of how to use the booth. They should also be fully informed of all the safety measures involved as well as those required by law. Safety equipment should be worn at all times in the form of dust or gas masks as an added precaution. Overspray and dust build-up can...

What Is A Spray Booth?

An airbrush spray booth and filtration unit – often referred to as an extraction unit, is a vital piece of safety equipment to use when you are airbrushing. A spray booth has two primary functions. Firstly to provide a contained environment that prevents any dirt getting into the area that you are working in which will stop your work being ruined. Secondly and more importantly, a spray booth is designed to prevent the inhalation of fumes that could be potentially harmful and have carcinogenic dangers as well as potential to damage the nervous system and respiratory system. A spray booth will also lower the risk of fire and explosion, as the fumes from the substances used are highly flammable. Components Of A Spray Booth The spray booth is a cabinet unit, which has an extraction fan and filters which remove and absorb the harmful particles from airbrush paints. Filters are either built in or bought separately which means they can easily be replaced. Spray booths come in a variety of sizes – from bench top ones that go up in degrees to ones that are designed for spray tanning. The spray booth cabinet and filtration unit absorb, dilute and disperse the harmful over spray that occurs when you paint something using an airbrush, meaning that the area is safe for you and your family. This is also better for the environment because the toxicity of the fumes is reduced. Providing A Contained Environment Anyone who has ever been involved in...

Another Satisfied Spray Booth Customer

The spray booth is an important asset to anyone involved with activities such as airbrushing musing solvent and soldering; in order to keep the user protected. This detailed review is from a satisfied customer of ours; who purchased the Exagon model spray booth. Find the original article here Assembly & First Impressions The first of the images below (click them for larger versions) shows the unit as it comes out of the box; it needs some assembly, and the second image (below) shows the various pieces. It goes together quite easily: You’ll need a cross head screwdriver for the feet and a 13mm spanner (or an adjustable wrench) for the handle. Note that none of the tools are supplied but they’re all pretty standard household tools, if not model making tools. Instructions are included but they don’t have much detail so I had to take a good look at the various screws, washers, and bolts to figure out where they should be used. The third image below shows them laid out as they need to be used. My review model is the BV555-D which includes a hose for external venting… so this also needed to be inserted through a hole in the case and attached, using a big jubilee clip (supplied) as shown in the large image above. (I guess the BV555-R has a built-in connection to the outside of the case). I anticipated that this would be a bit of a fiddle but it...

A Happy Customer! BenchVent Spray Booth Review

Customer Review Of Our Spray Booth – All The Way From Hong Kong! Our spray booths are popular with people involved in hobbies all around the globe, here is a review from a happy customer in Hong Kong, including some pictures of his spray booth in action! I recently purchased a BV300S-D for hobby and model-making use in my smallish Hong Kong apartment. I just wanted to let you guys know I am really pleased with the unit. It is compact, fairly quiet and quite powerful. Although most of my airbrushing is with Tamiya acrylics I use lacquer thinner as the dilutant and strong Gaia thinners to clean my paint-mixing equipment and airbrush. I simply extend the hose out the window during use and there is not a trace of smell of the stuff! There are cheaper units available here in Hong Kong made in Taiwan and mainland China but this was not an area where, in my opinion, the cost-benefit analysis is in favour of saving a little money. So thanks again for a great product and keep up the good work. Mario Valdes-Lora Wanchai, Hong Kong P.S. I have attached a couple of pics of my airbrushing setup. The post A Happy Customer!
